Updated: May 28
Ingredients (Makes about 14 cookies):
1/2 cup butter
1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/8 tsp salt
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Flaked sea salt for sprinkling
In a medium sauce pan, melt the butter over medium heat then bring to boil. Continue cooking your butter while swirling the pan until it starts turning a deep amber color. Remove from the heat and pour into a separate bowl and allow to cool for 10 minutes.
While the butter is cooling, pre-heat your oven to 180 degrees C and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
Once the butter has cooled down, add in both kinds of sugar, the eggs and vanilla and stir to combine.
Add your dry ingredients and gently stir everything until the dough starts coming together. Mix in your chocolate chips and stir just enough to combine. Do not over mix.
Using a medium ice-cream scoop, place your dough on your baking sheets leaving space between each one.
Sprinkle your flaked sea salt all over the top of your cookies.
Bake for 12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden brown.
Allow to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
Store at room temperature in air tight container for up to 3 days, one week in the refrigerator.
