Warming Healthy Gluten Free Apple Crumble



Ingredients:


For the apple mixture:

-25 g unsalted butter

-25 g coconut sugar

-6 golden delicious apples

-2 tsp cinnamon powder

-squeeze of lemon juice

-1 tsp corn starch/ corn flour


For the crumble mixture:

-150 g gluten free oats

-40 g coconut sugar

-1 tsp cinnamon powder

-1 tsp gluten free baking powder

-pinch of salt

-60 g cold butter cut into small pieces


Method:


-To make the apple mixture, first peel and dice all the apples into small cubes.

-Into a large pan, add the butter and coconut sugar and cook on medium heat until the butter has melted and you have a caramely sauce.

-Add in all your diced apples and leave to cook for 5-7 minutes on medium heat until the apples begin to soften up.

-Add in your cinnamon and squeeze of lemon juice and continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes.

-Finally add in your cornflour and mix it thoroughly. You will see the mixture begin to thicken up.

Turn off the heat and leave aside while we work on the crumble mixture.

-In a large bowl add all the dry ingredients and give them a mix to combine.

-Add the butter and start incorporating the butter with the dry ingredients using your clean hands, until the butter is evenly distributed.


-Place the apple mixture in the baking pan/dish and lay them out flat, even distributed, then add all your crumble on the top.

-Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180 C for 30 minutes.

-Enjoy right away or heat in the microwave for a few seconds before eating.
